I have been a fitness professional for almost 20 years, and teach group fitness at a local Los Angeles Gym. For many years, I worked for LA Fitness as the Regional Aerobics Coordinator for LA and the San Fernando Valley, but I was miserable in Corporate America. I didn't want to manage or be managed. I just wanted to teach aerobics and find something to do from home. Nine years ago I was introduced to an all-natural skincare company. Having always been a product person (makeup included) I fell in love with the products, and the idea of selling them from home. I left my corporate position and just continued to teach fitness.
HER APRIORI STORY
I left my first company after six years and went to a new company. I stayed there for about a year but was frustrated with the product performance (or lack thereof) and the ingredients that were deemed harmful. I left, took 6 months off, and then in October of 2012, I saw a post on Facebook about Apriori Beauty. I had heard of Apriori Beauty prior to that, but I had forgotten about it. I did, remember, however, that my old friend Jill Kranitz was an Apriori Beauty Consultant. I called her and asked for samples because I was desperate for something natural & organic. She said, "I have one Turn Back Time capsule left and it's cracked, but you're my friend so it's OK to send to you!" While I waited for the samples, I devoured the Apriori Beauty website. I loved it all-the compensation plan was outstanding, there was a manageable number of products, and the ingredients were exactly what I was looking for. And then I tried the products and was blown away by the changes I saw in my own skin in just 48 hours. I signed up as a Consultant, purchased a ton of products, and officially launched my new business on January 1, 2013.
Certainly, I love the money part of this business, but I also love it when a potential new customer tells me how much she/he loves the products. I know I am sharing something that is effective and healthy at the same time. And the camaraderie amongst the consultants is truly amazing. I run a networking group called Women's Business Connection. We meet for dinner the last Wednesday night of every month and it's been a great outlet for meeting other women in business.
I would have to say I am most inspired by my children, Andrew and Stephanie. Both my husband, Steve (who I've been married to for almost 32 years) and I are extremely proud of them. They have grown into such savvy, smart young adults. Both graduated college and have amazing careers: one in sales/management, and the other in politics. They truly inspire me on a daily basis.
